DMSC

Dairy Manufacturers Sustainability Council

The Dairy Manufacturers Sustainability Council (DMSC) is an evolution of the Dairy Manufacturers Environmental Forum (DMEF). A sub-group of DMEF was established to examine its current work and develop a way forward for the future.
The Group considered that current pressure to strive towards environmental sustainability for all industries, and the Dairy Industry specifically, meant that a reassessment of its role was critical. A change of name was felt appropriate to reflect the new direction and focus and accordingly, the DMEF has evolved to DMSC.  The DMSC was launched in March 2007 at the Sustainability Victoria offices in Melbourne.

Full membership of the DMSC is open to corporate Environmental/Sustainability Managers of Australian dairy manufacturing companies. Associate membership is available to those that would like to keep informed of updates within the industry through the receival of communications such as newsletters and project updates. Associate members include government bodies, industry service providers, customers, research organisations or other interested parties.  Benefits include awareness of and access to relevant research and industry projects and corresponding reports (as approved by DMSC), regular industry newsletter and the opportunity to access and network with key dairy manufacturing industry stakeholders via invitation to regular forums. The forums are held at least twice per year with presentations on environmental/sustainability topics relevant to the industry. (Note: the forums are held over a full day and include a dinner. They are mostly held in Melbourne.)
